This is a World War I Prussian Germany brass GOT MIT UNS matchbox holder, match box cover or match safe.  It has some dings and discoloration to be expected of a brass piece of it s age.  It measures the standard 2 3 8 inches across by 1 5 8ths inches wide by about 3 4 of an inch in depth.  What a wonderful piece to add to your own collection of historical memorabilia.   Great to display, gift or use.
